Account Deletion Policy
How Grace Connect users can request deletion of their account from inside or outside the app.

Delete My Account
Grace Connect allows users who create an account to request deletion of that account. Users should be able to initiate deletion inside the app and from this public website page.
1. Who Can Request Deletion
Any Grace Connect account holder who is 18 or older may request deletion of their own account. A church administrator may request deletion of a church space only if they are authorized to act for that church. We may require identity verification before processing any request.
2. In-App Deletion Path
Inside the Grace Connect app, users should navigate to Settings → Account Settings → Delete Account. The app should show a clear explanation of what deletion means and then submit a deletion request or call a secure backend deletion function. Signing out alone is not account deletion.
3. Website Deletion Request Path
Users may also request deletion by emailing privacy@graceconnect.app with the subject line Grace Connect Account Deletion Request. The request should include the email address used for the account, full name, church name, and a statement confirming that the user wants their Grace Connect account deleted.
4. Suggested Website Form Fields
Full Name
Account Email Address
Church Name
Phone Number, if used on the account
Reason for deletion, optional
Confirmation checkbox: “I understand that deleting my Grace Connect account may remove or anonymize my profile and account-linked data, subject to lawful retention.”
5. What May Be Deleted or Anonymized
Deletion may remove or anonymize profile details, authentication records, profile photos, bio, contact fields, notification tokens, app preferences, direct personal identifiers, and account-linked content where deletion is technically and legally appropriate.
6. What May Be Retained
Grace Connect or the relevant church may retain limited information where necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal obligations, dispute resolution, financial/giving records, audit logs, moderation reports, abuse investigations, attendance records, backups, or church administration. Retained data should be limited to what is necessary and protected according to the Privacy Policy and Data Retention Schedule.
7. Timeline
Grace Connect will aim to acknowledge deletion requests within a reasonable time and complete deletion or anonymization as soon as practical after verifying the request. Some backup copies may expire according to backup retention schedules and may not be immediately overwritten.
8. Church Space Deletion
Deleting a church space is separate from deleting a personal account. Church space deletion may affect multiple members and ministry records. Requests must come from an authorized church representative and may require additional verification.
9. Contact
Send deletion requests to privacy@graceconnect.app or general support requests to support@graceconnect.app.
